Dear readers, today we are talking about “overs.” Yes, those friendly individuals who cross the threshold of 40 years and start feeling old and out of touch with the world.
But don’t worry, dear “over” friends, this article is specially made for you!
Oh, sorry… I got confused. Actually, I wanted to talk about the “over” in Disc Dog.
The “over” in Disc Dog is one of the spectacular moves you can work on with your dog.
It involves making your dog jump over your body without touching you, all while stylishly catching the frisbee.
Some dogs have a natural knack for jumping, others can be trained, and some might not be suited for this type of acrobatics.
In theory, the dog should take off about two meters away from you, tuck their hind legs in, and land on all fours after catching the frisbee while passing over you.
The frisbee’s placement once thrown is also important, depending on what you want to achieve.
In the video below, I threw the frisbee in front of me to help the dog pick it up during the exercise.
In this video, we were in the process of building the “over,” or rather the “big over.”
Alternatively, you can have the dog pass over your leg, “over the leg,” or in between your legs, “over a v,” either laterally or frontally.
There are countless variations you can add, such as somersaults, spins, and much more.
So, if you are an “over” in the sense of being “over 40 years,” don’t despair!
You too can learn to do the “over” with your dog in Disc Dog and show everyone that you’re still full of energy and passion for the game!
Enjoy & Play Disc Dog
